The system requirements for accessing the courses and IoT kits on OPEN's LMS are divided into three main categories:

  1. WisBlock Kits
    Requirements:
    • IDE (Integrated Development Environment): A compatible IDE is required to program and interact with WisBlock kits.
    • Operating System: Windows, macOS, or Linux capable of running the chosen IDE.
    • Hardware: A computer with a USB port for connecting the WisBlock kits, and specifications that meet the IDE's requirements.
  2. OPEN Education Portal
    Requirements:
    • Web Browser: Latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge.
    • Operating System: Any OS that supports the above browsers.
  3. General Internet Access
    Requirements:

Can I access the course materials and instructions offline or through a mobile app?

Yes, both content can be saved local and the Moodle app can be used on Android and iPhone.

How long do I have access to the courses on OPEN's LMS after purchase?

Upon purchase, you will have access to the courses on OPEN's LMS for the duration of the school year.

Are there any prerequisites or specific requirements for enrolling in certain courses?

Prerequisites for our courses may vary. For example, for our forthcoming Air Quality Monitoring Course, it would be beneficial to have completed the Environment Project Development Kit course. Similarly, for our Introduction to Data Analytics course, it would be more relevant and useful if you have completed a Sensor Kit Development course and have purchased the data dashboard network service to display your sensor data. Specific prerequisites for each course will be clearly listed on the course information page.

For how long does the customer have access to the data dashboards if they purchase the sensor data dashboard service?

Customers who subscribe to the network data dashboard service and pay the annual software license fee of $500 will enjoy indefinite access to the data dashboards.
